ARCEIS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
ARCEIS football tournament (C/D) division boys was hosted by St. Mary’s Convent School, Geyzing on 4-5 July 2014. The participating schools were Don Bosco School, Malbasey; Namchi Public School, Namchi; St. Joseph’s School, Rhenock; St. Joseph’s School, Martam; St. Xaviers’ School , Pakyong and St. Mary’s Convent School, Geyzing. The tournament was declared open on 4th July 2014, by Rev. Fr. Walter Costa, the Parish Priest of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Geyzing. On the following day the Chief Guest was Rev. Fr. Noby George, SDB, Principal of DBS, Malbasey and the President of ARCEIS. The semi-finals and the final were also witnessed by Shri Namgyal Bhutia, the Sports in-charge, HRDD, West Sikkim. The final match was played between SXS, Pakyong and NPS, Namchi.SXS lifted the tournament while NPS, the 1st Runners Up and St. Mary’s Convent School the 2nd Runners Up. Trophies and medals were given by the Chief Guest and Superior Sr. Nirmala Tigga presented to the referees token of gratitude. Sameek Subba of SXS, Pakyong was declared the best player of the tournament was awarded trophy by Shri Namgyal Bhutia. Finally, Mrs. Anushuya Limboo concluded the two days event with vote of thanks to the participants, the Principals of the various participating schools, the Officials and Guest, the students, the organizing Committee and the School management team.

SMS Geyzing
St. Anthony’s Convent School Welcomes Sr. Provincial and the Council
St. Anthony’s Convent School, Jaigaon, witnessed a glorious moment when Sr. Maria Pettayil, the provincial visited on 27th June, 2014. She had arrived in Jaigaon on the previous day with other six sisters from different parts of the province. They were all welcomed heartily by the whole school during the morning assembly with a thunderous clap. ‘Khadas’(traditional garland)were offered by Sradha Thapa, the school captain to the sister Provincial and all other sisters.
The Literary captain, Lovely Praveen delivered the welcome speech on behalf of the school. She expressed gratitude and thanked sister provincial for her constant love and support towards the school. Then the whole assembly sang the welcome song.
Sister Annie, the superior introduced all the sisters to the students and the teachers. She honoured their dedicated service in different fields. Then the Sister provincial was invited to speak few words to the students. In her speech she thanked everyone for their presence and dedicated service to the school. She narrated an inspirational short story of butterflies inspiring everyone to live like them joyfully. She also told that God loves us abundantly without failure. At the end Sushmita Chhetri, the vice captain gave vote of thanks.

Life Skills Champion – DB Tech
Life skills champion training was organized by DB Tech India for the selected staff from the various parts of India. It was conducted at the Bangalore Provincial house from 2nd June -10th June by the Sky Blue. The following were the topics dwelt during the seminar.

The training enriched the participants with various life skill activities, helped them to discover and develop the new initiatives and to prepare to cope up with challenges gracefully and positively. The ultimate change can come only from self and not from anywhere else ultimately I am responsible for my actions.Life Skills Champion could make the world a better place for themselves and for others.

Inauguration and Blessing
On 28th June 2014, the long awaited day brought delight, excitement and surprises for the community of ‘Nirmala Niketan’, Jaigaon. The newly constructed residence of the sisters was officially blessed by Fr. Rajesh Barla, the parish priest of St. Mary’s Church,Mechia village and inaugurated by Provincial Sr. Maria Pettayil and Animator Sr. Annie Thevarkunnel in the presence of the Provincial Councilors, sisters from the neighboring communities of North Bengal, collaborators and the recipients of our mission. The Holy Eucharist was the climax of the day. After which the assembly gathered in front of the residence for a short prayer service. Sr. Maria lighted the lamp, which was placed at the entrance of the house, reminding everyone that Jesus is the True Light ever present in the house where all are welcomed to experience His warmth and love. The memorable and joyous day was ended by invoking the blessings of Mary, the Immaculate Heart.
