On 16th August, 6 Sisters and 3 teachers along with the 37 Brass Band members joined in the twin celebration of the opening of the Bicentenary celebration of the Birth of Don Bosco and the Silver Jubilee of the Don Bosco School Malbasey. The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. Lancelot Joseph Fuller, the Deputy Secretary of CISCE, New Delhi and the former Chief Minister of Sikkim, Mr. N. B. Bhandari.

Then again on 21st August, we inaugurated the Bicentenary of the Birth of Don Bosco   in John Paul II Hall. The celebration started at 8.30 am with the school Brass Band leading School Captain and the Captains of four houses followed by two students carrying the bust of St. John Bosco to the stage.  Our parish priest Rev. Fr. Walter Crasta garlanded the bust of Don Bosco. It was followed by the lighting of the lamp by the representatives of the Educating Community viz.  Sr. Superior, two teachers, a parent, a past pupil and a student. The students offered various symbolic offerings like book, ball, chain, flower, national Flag and dove and prayed for various intentions. Then Sr. Superior, unveiled the Bicentenary painting of Don Bosco done by the students and declared the great event open. She also gave the message on Preventive System which was propounded by St. John Bosco. After that three students and a Past Pupil shared their Salesian educative experience. This was followed by the Oath taking ceremony by the students and also by Sisters and teachers. They pledged to walk in the footsteps of Don Bosco in holiness and to re- dedicate their lives to serve God, society and the young more zealously so as to make them good and honest citizens  of our motherland and that of heaven.P1140791
