Auxilium Convent School Barasat had the sublime experience of inaugurating the Bicentenary year of Don Bosco’s birth on 22nd August 2014. It was celebrated as the Auxilium family: the school and DB tech students honoured their father solemnly. The program was organized by the Bosco house. It started at 8.15 am with escorting the portrait of Don Bosco from sisters’ residents. Sisters accompanied the portrait as the Bosco House marched in unison towards the school. Then the portrait was placed in a prominent place and garlanded, followed by lighting the lamp and hoisting the bi-centenary flag. The unveiling of collage and displaying of flex revealed Don Bosco’s service to the youth for two centuries. Rev. Sr. Stella gave meaningful message; once again reminding the three years preparation and inviting to imitate Don Bosco and make oneself a beautiful gift for the Lord. The event came to a close by the releasing of 200 balloons and declaration by Rev. Sr. Stella the mega celebrations open. The Bosco house invited the whole school to make promise to make the upcoming year more colourful, joyous and bright by imbibing his spirit and spirituality. The slogan Bosco Bosco filled the air of Auxilium and the symbolic balloons carried the cheers of youngsters to their friend Don Bosco.
