The staff, students of Auxilium Convent School, Dum Dum welcomed Provincial, Sr. Rose Ezarath in their midst with great enthusiasm and exultation. The celebration spread over two days as the High School section welcomed Mother on the 8th November, 2016 while the Primary Section did the same on the 10th November, 2016. On the 8th November, the High School students gave Mother a ceremonial welcome with the School Band playing a joyous tune and the Class XII students waving their pom-pom high. After a solemn prayer service, Mother addressed the students; she emphasized on the significance of the Jubilee Year of Mercy and applauded the students for the charitable acts that they had done both inside and outside the school. She further added that the Year of Mercy was coming to an end but the ‘Door of Mercy’ of our hearts should remain ever open.

The School Report was read out by the School Captain which recorded the various events and activities that the School had conducted and participated in. There were a series of cultural programmes that were based on St. Teresa of Calcutta and the Year of Mercy. The efforts of the students were appreciated by Mother, who encouraged the students to let the flag of Auxilium, Dum Dum fly high.

The students of the Primary Section too welcomed Mother Provincial on the 10th November, 2016 with balloons and flowers. The air was filled with hope and happiness when the cultural programme began with a welcome speech followed by an action song sung by the Nursery students. Mother was delighted to see the little children express their joy at having her in their midst through various dances and skits. She delivered her massage to the children through a short story in which she explained to them that to achieve something in life one should be able to sacrifice the most precious things that one has. Auxilium Convent School, Dum Dum was indeed privileged to feel the motherly presence of the Head of the Province not for one but two days and it looks forward to more occasions like this.
