
On the auspicious morning of the ninth of May, the twenty fifth day of the Bengali month of ‘Baisakh’ we celebrated the 156th birth anniversary the phenomenal Bengali polymath, Rabindranath Tagore.
The melodious song ‘Eso he Boisakh’ marked the beginning of the celebration which was followed by the lightnig of the holy lamp.
After a brief summary on the life of Rabindranath Tagore a couple of heartwarming songs were sung, ‘Juto Abishkar’, a humerous play depicting the event of the unieention of the shoe’ was performed by the middle school students. A rythmio dance on a Tagore song set a tranquil atmosphere. The middle school and the High School monologue competition commenced next, with sir. Sudip and Ms. Rita as the Judges. The participants from the respective houses put up outstanding performances as they were cheered on by the thunderous applause of the audience. The high School students amazed us with their mervelous performance in the High School Monologue competition. A documentary by Satyajit Roy on Gurudev’s life was presented next. As time went by, we moved on to the High School Inter House solo Instrumental competition with Sr. Juliana and Sir. Sudip as the judges. Lastly the President of Music club gave a vote of thanks to the students, teachers and Almighty God for the successful execution of the performance. To mark the end of the celebration, Sr. Superior and Sr. Principal enriched us with their golden words, inspiring us to follow the footsteps of this great enigmatic personality. The performance came to an end at around 12.15 p.m.
