A UNIQUE STEP… in the month of October

The month of October reminds us of two things: THE ROSARY AND THE MISSIONS. Keeping these in mind the novitiate community went to pray the rosary in the families together with the oratorians.

Being the mission month a Quiz completion was organized on 12 November by Sr. Dominica J. Thapa for the catechism children of the Kharsidag. Children were very happy and their knowledge about the Rosary and the Missions was increased.

Month of May a month dear to the Salesian family began with much fervour and enthusiasm. The Statue of Mary Help of Christians, was well decorated in the chapel. On this day the whole community took resolve to pray the chain rosary. In the evening boarders animated the live Rosary, enacting each mystery and with good singing. The groups were given responsibility to animate each days Rosary in a creative way.  Sr. Superior congratulated them and encouraged them to continue to honour our Blessed Mother. Each boarder was given an extra decade to pray during this month and each sister one rosary each.

Marian Nite at Sacred Heart Novitiate Ranchi

032

On 24th April 2017 was a memorable day for all in the Sacred Heart Novitiate Ranchi. After supper we gathered together to honour our Blessed Mother with the “Marian Nite”. The programme commenced with Marian apparition (tableau), Marian hymn; Mary in the Gospel (skit) Mary in my life (life experience) and the word formation in groups. Each item was presented creatively by the second Novitiate sisters, community sisters and the Novices under the guidance of Sr. Mukta K. As we are in the centenary of the apparition of our Lady of Fatima, the groups presented the tableau which reminded us of the promises of our Blessed Mother to pray for peace and the conversion of sinners. The Programme came to an end with the provoking thought by Sr. Rosalia Tirkey the animator.

Marian and Mission Month

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Month of October was a very busy month at Auxilium Aspirantate Barasat. During this month of the Rosary and the Missions the aspirants and postulants kept themselves busy with various activities, such as: Marian quiz, mono act, mime, hymns, skits, apparitions, and goodnights on our missionary Sisters. The holy Rosary was animated in the families as well as in the community and everyone tried to pray the entire Rosary every day. These enriched us to love our Lady deeply and to be enthusiastic missionaries wherever we are. Every prayer moment was for the missionaries and for many more zealous missionary vocations. In view of the mission Sunday collections we had two days of exhibition of hand made things and some cloth items. The oratorians together with their parents extended their helping hands in buying these things. On 31st, the conclusion of the Rosary month, we joined with the campus community in the solemn Rosary Procession conducted in the campus together with the neighbourhood catholics.

Children around their Mother

Hail Mary Full of Grace !

The month of October is dear to all the Catholics as it honours our blessed Mother with the recital of the rosaries.  Being also a month dedicated to the missions our community decided at the onset of the month to honour her with chain Rosaries dividing it among the sisters and boarders and house staff thus completing 9 Rosaries  for the intentions – peace in the middle East, for the extension of evangelization and for people suffering from the incurable malady Ebola.  As a part of Celebration of mission Sunday activity the community decided to visit families and recite the Rosary.Whenever time permitted the sisters like the disciples either in pairs or in more numbers set out with zeal to recite Rosaries in the nearby catholic families.  The climax of this Marian devotion was the conclusion of the month on 31st October – when the catholic families joined both Auxilium Barasat communities to honour our Blessed mother in a befitting manner.  The Statue of our Blessed Mother was on a beautiful float made on the cycle cart festooned with blue and pick balloons and decorative lights leading the candle light procession of her beloved children.  The boarders animated the Rosary in triple languages, Hindi, Bengali and English making it understandable for the families.   The devout procession concluded around the niche of Mary in the residence where the fervent devotees placed all the candles in specially prepared vessels and prayed for various intentions.  Our Blessed mother might have enjoyed this festival of lights in her honour and would have begged her kingly son to shower down blessings on all present.  The celebration ended with tea and snacks and all returned home with the memories of this beautiful celebration in honour of the most loved of all mothers.
