Inauguration of New Scholastic Year – Auxilium Barasat

Inaguration Prayer

A new scholastic year is like the beginning of a whole new adventure. There could be no better way of making this adventure a successful one than to being it with God’s blessings. So, the students of Auxilium Convent School, Barasat chose the 11th of April, 2018 to organize a prayer service in order to ask God to shower his bountiful blessings on us and help us making this year a successful one.

The prayer service began with the lighting of the lamp by Sr. Superior, Sr. Principal and Vice-principal and also with garlanding the statue of Mother Mary whose presence we could feel among us. We, then had readings from the holy Bible, the holy Gita and the holy Quran, followed by prayers and offerings. This was followed by a melodious prayer song and the prayer service was concluded with a beautiful prayer dance.

Finally, we were enlightened by the words of Superior Sr. Stella who explained us the thrust of the year which would give momentum to our actions throughout the year. We were told by her to try to make this world a happy place for others to live in and accompany the people around us in order to give them happiness.  Finally, Principal Sr. Clara S. told us to follow the thrust of the year and work together to make this year a successful one.

Starting afresh at Auxilium Convent Barasat

Adoration

On 7th July 2016, the community of Auxilium Convent, Barasat  raised  a hymn of gratitude to the Almighty for the gift of all the community members especially the new members. It commenced with the Eucharistic celebration in the morning, and in the evening the whole community gathered around the well decorated chapel for the Adoration. The altar was decorated with a chain made of different colours to indicate our union with God and  with one another in spite of the  diversities and the names of all the community members as well as various groups of the Educating community. Adoration began with a hymn inviting the assembly to be united in the Lord and with each other. The sisters, representatives of the boarders, teachers and other collaborators carried a lighted candle to the altar. During the Adoration each one expressed their gratitude to God for the gift of each and every member of the community and implored his blessings on each one and the educative mission. This meaningful Adoration led everyone to experience the spiritual communion among ourselves.

IN SOLIDARITY …

Prayer

The students, Teachers and Sisters of Auxilium Convent School, Dum Dum expressed solidarity with Sr. Superior, Sisters and the School Community of Jesus and Mary Convent School at Ranaghat by a solemn prayer service on the 19th March 2015. It began with the lighting of candles and the offering of flowers at the statue of Mother Mary outside the chapel. The students put up a banner which said, “We condemn such acts of brutality”.  The prayers in the chapel were not only for Sr. Superior, the 74 – year old Sister, but also for all the other women who have been victimized in different parts of our County. There was a Scripture reading from the second letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians which strengthen the faith of God’s people in him, in times of distress. The prayer service which was concluded by silent meditation in which the students and teachers asked for God’s mercy testified the strength of prayer in adverse situations like these. It also established the fact that one has to rely on divine justice.
