Middle School Parents Orientation

On 17th April, 2018, our school organized a seminar for the students of Classes VII and VIII. It was held to evaluate and enhance one’s moral characters and to diminish depression, frustration and other thoughts from one’s mind. Sir Wilson Joseph, our counsellor, made us understand various life skills through innovative and fostering ways. Digital methods and pictures were used along with sharing of experiences. He opened our eyes and mind to the path that would lead to happiness and success. We were allowed to share our achievements and experiences and were told to interact with one another. The seminar enlightened our mind and we are thankful to our Principal for organizing this seminar.

Students’ Orientation

Students High School Orientaion.jpg

On 16 April, 2018 orientation for the students of classes IX to XII was organized by the school and animated by Mr. Wilson Joseph. In a very short span of time, he had everyone talking, interacting, and put everyone at ease. We were given a short briefing on the various problems that we as teenagers face today and how to overcome them, with the help of a PowerPoint presentation prepared by him. We were next sorted into groups of around ten members each. Captains were chosen in each group by a simple game devised by Mr. Wilson Joseph. We were given simple tasks such as coming up with a group name and enacting it in front of everyone. Further, Mr. Wilson Joseph enlightened us on the disadvantages of our over dependence on technology and how it is often misused.

As we left for the break, we were asked to collect reusable waste items. On our return, we were told to create the ‘the best out of waste’- a model depicting success. One by one all the groups demonstrated their models and showcased their imaginative faculty. At the end of the day, we were very thankful to our Principal Sr. Clara for organizing such a thoughtful event. On a personal note, I was touched and inspired by the words of Mr. Wilson Joseph and the group activities undoubtedly uplifted the spirit of teamwork and unity within us.

CAMP FOR A DAY…

29th April 191.JPG

Camp! Camp ! Camp!

A day to CAMP for all who want to run and jump

29th April was a day of joy to be shared,

At Mazzarello Convent as 75 Oratorians glared.

By 10.30 they filled the premises,

The job of grouping was then accomplished.

They were full of fun and excitement,

So without delay we gave a start by invoking the Lord’s name.

Now it was sisters turn for enactment,

To make known, to them the life of our Mother Mazzarello and Dominic Savio.

As, they were wonder struck by this all,

They were resolute to imitate that all.

We too turned their gaze towards Mother Mary too,

Whose, month we are to begin after coming days two.

The task now was to make know her through the Four Mysteries,

As we gave each mystery to the each group to present.

Everyone did their best to present the mysteries in a creative way,

With hymns and Gospel quotations as if they were in it through.

To make the presentation more memorable,

The apparition and miracles of Our Lady of Velankanni were shown to them.

Watching this they were so full of devotion for her,

Thus inviting them to love her more fervently.

Following the Salesian mode of life we too had some games and action songs for them,

It seemed as if this accomplished their heart’s desire.

Yet there was something left which would be the best,

Honouring, our Heavenly Mother by praying the rosary.

Carrying the Mother’s Statue in procession they came,

That moment seemed like a heavenly atmosphere.

At the end of day all were filled with the knowledge about many things,

We could see it through their radiant faces.

Now they GO as missionaries of MARY,

To tell all that they had SEEN, HEARD and EXPERIENCED.
