The programme was concluded by a beautiful message from Sr. Asha Kerketta the Headmistress sharing the thoughts of Pope Francis that “CHRISTMAS IS  YOU”, ‘YOU’ means we, when we decide to be born again every time and change oneself. We are the decoration with the virtue of good habits like:

Light to illuminate others’ path with our generosity

Angel – singing the message of love

Star shows leading someone to right path

Music to conquer harmony in us

Cards showing kindness

Greeting means forgiving others and dinner tells sharing and last but not the least, Christmas night tells us to receive God in the silence of our heart.

Finally the event began with Mr. Ramalingam and a debator of Calcutta Debating Club (CDC) presiding as moderators for the debate. There were three topics that were debated over – the first being ‘Neither Science nor Humanities but Value based Education is the need of the hour’, the second being ‘Go Green- Moving towards a paperless world’ and the last – ‘Impact of Technology on Education’.

The first experience is always a memorable one. Fifteen of us NCC cadets of Holy Child Auxilium Vasant Vihar got an opportunity to attend the CATC camp1-10 December 2017at Safdarjung.

At our arrival, at the venue by 4 p.m. on 1st December, Wing Commander Sameer Mehra briefed us of the rules to be maintained during the Camp. We were excited on hearing him that we were going to handle the Pride of a Soldier – A Rifle. On the following day we were taken to the Range Firing Ground and given the instruction on the functioning of the rifle with a live ammunition and then we were given a rifle each to fire at given targets. It was a learning experience. The next following couple of days were spent (i) taking part in a variety of interesting competitions like Poster Making, Debate on the topic ‘Freedom of Expression’ (ii) attending medical Lecture (iii) learning about Fire Extinguishers and road safety measures (iv) visiting the Air Force Museum and such type of interesting experiences. All of us enjoyed the well-organized Walkathon at Chitranjan Park and felt proud when Mrs. Preet Kaur our NCC representative flagged off the event.

We had to face a few inconveniences but we are happy that we could adjust and come out of our comfort zone. This amazing camp experience will remain imprinted in our hearts for ever. We are grateful to H.C A for having given us this beautiful opportunity.

The children went home not only with sweets in their hands but also with the JOY of Christmas in their hearts.

On 14th December at 11am, Sacred Heart Novitiate welcomed Provincial Sr. Rose Ezarath for the visitation. We welcomed her by the enactment of the scene of John the Baptist heralding her coming to the community. It was followed by a traditional welcome. Her words of encouragement and sisterly accompaniment were an enriching moment for us. On 15th evening we expressed our gratitude to Sr. Provincial for being a constant guide in our spiritual journey by dramatizing the skit “Hind’s feet on the High Mountains” which shows the constant guidance of the Good-Shepherd in the life of a lame girl. We also took this opportunity to wish her a grace filled Christmas. Her last message for her us was, “I leave you in the midst of the BLISS”.
