Classes II to X were given specific topics to present the message to the assembly. Each class took initiative to present their programme in a creative way that attracted everyone as well as brought out the values of  truth, honesty, love for prayer, respect for nature and good character . The students presented the theme in the form of dance drama, skit, poem, power point presentation, action song etc. The students were so lively and enthusiastic.

The week long programme delivered strong motivational values to be implemented in their lives as well as provided  opportunity to every student to showcase their talents.

“ Seven days of values taught us for seven generations” said Neysang  Gurung of Cl. IX .

Sanorika Subba said , “We not only enjoyed and clapped on the assemblies held, but we also started to imply the values in our day today lives. Even though the value education week may be a come and go process but we have learnt many inspiring messages which will be helpful throughout our lives”.

The Value Education week has enabled the students to bring out remarkable changes in their lives with great moral values.

“Blessed bare the merciful. For they will receive mercy” – Mt. 5:7 The year 2016 in the International year of mercy as designated by the Holy Father Pope Francis. The students of ACS Barasat, rose to the occasion wonderfully, with each class putting their heart and soul into living by this virtue of mercy in ourselves. The classes presented a short and relevant programme every day in the morning assembly at 8:00 A.M. The weeks commenced with the senior most class, XII, portraying how we can be merciful towards our natural environment, on 24th October. The high school students put all of their creativity, innovation and hard work into composing their own tunes on the power of love and mercy. They performed ski8ts that depicted how kindness can work miracles in life and how cruelty can force a person to shun all goodness and turn to their evil sides for comfort. The middle school dexterously showed various examples of corporal and spiritual works of mercy. The students pledged to make the world a better place by their acts of mercy. The value Education weeks came to an end with class VI A. It is an event that made us appreciated the warmth of human values in this harsh world and made us more sensitive and merciful to the people around us.

‘Eco Spirituality’- ‘Care for the common home’

Value Edu. week 1On the occasion of the ‘Value Education week’ the Auxilians of Barasat from classes I- XII portrayed the theme “Care for our Common Home” from 7th October to 18th November. Both Primary and high school separately had their theme presentation during the assembly. Every class tried their best to present in the best way possible. Lots of charts and placards were displayed in and around the campus depicting the theme and the tips to respect and care for the Mother earth. Some of the classes had cleanliness drive in and outside the campus. Many students composed poems & recited, sang the self-composed songs and skilful skits were displayed which were obviously thought provoking.  Some classes planted saplings and others watered the plants and others bought dustbin to keep the campus clean. Vlu edu.Starting from classes I &XII  all said a prayer for the mother earth and acknowledged the role of earth in making life a comfortable one. The value education week with its appropriate theme made everyone realise the present situation: pollution, unusual weather & climate and other natural calamities and disasters.  Being aware of the situation many classes pledged to be responsible in caring for the common home so to preserve, conserve and protect it. The ‘International Year of Soil – 2015’ has left a remarkable thought and awareness in the minds of Auxilians.
