ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2016 at Auxilium Convent School, New Chumta

The school playground of Auxilium Convent School New Chumta was filled with great zeal and excitement for the annual Sports day which was held on 20th December 2016. The fantastic turnout from the parents and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students. Mr. Prafulla Barman, Pradhan of Patharghata Gram Panchayat, graced the occasion with his presence. The program was inaugurated by lightning the sport’s torch by our cheif guest as a declaration of sports meet open. This auspicious day started with a welcome speech by our honourable sister Principal Sr.Inocencia Jojo and then Mr.Prafulla Barman enlightened the do’s and dont’s in the area of sports, in his inspiring and valuable speech. It was followed by an impressive march past by all the four houses, clubs and bulbul.

Cultural program started with a lovely and dazzling performance by the youngest students of our school i.e. Nursery and KG. Then sports event kicked off with balloon race of junior girls. After this exciting start the various sports lined up for the day, quickly progressed such as hopping race, Queen’s Walk, friend race, Bursting the balloon, penguins walk and ball race for the junior classes.

For the higher class students there was Needle and thread race, sack race, balance race, 200 meters race, slow cycle race and the last but not the least, the most awaited event of this day was relay race. In which these young athletes ran for the pride of their respective houses, while the other students were bucking them up with their cheers. In between these sports events, prizes of the finalised events were distributed as well as all the houses got the chance to showcase their tremendous drill performances with their amazing coordination.

Lastly after the announcement of the winners by Ms. Namika Lama and Mrs Gloria Kujur                   the medals and certificates of the field events were distributed by our cheif guest and sister principal. Over all best performance in all event was also awarded with trophy and the winning team was also applauded. The program ended with vote of thanks by Mrs. Alma Minj.

 

Visit to the Old Age Home by Mazzarello School Students

On 14th December 2016, for the first time Mazzarello School students  visited the Old Age Home. Ten student’s representatives along with sisters and Mrs. Amarjeet Kaur  visited the old age home. They entertained  them with Christmas carols. Students were in tears when they began to share about their life and how they have landed in this old age home. Their messages to the students were: to study well; to listen to the elders; never leave parents alone; seek always their advice and always be good. At the end students sang Christmas carol and presented gifts to all and cash to Sr. Gemma  who is in charge  of the  old age home.

Christmas celebration at Auxilium, Najafgarh

The innocent hearts were filled with happiness and cheer when getting ready for the Christmas celebration on 21st December before they would start with their winter vacation. The little hearts were bubbling with joy and they did get the true meaning of Christmas as they enacted the Christmas scene.

The three kings gazing at the sky   seem to have seen the star leading them. When they reached Bethlehem Mary was delighted to see how her son was welcomed by the poor and the rich and how they recognized the dwelling of God with men and Seeing Him as the rising Day Star, shining sun of Justice. With such delight children sang ‘Come, come, come to the manger, Children come to the children’s King. Sing, sing chorus of angels, stars of morning, o’er Bethlehem sing’. What more! With the jingle bells and Santa’s and his children’s arrival all were on their dancing feet.  ehi , ehi, they look forward to another Christmas day not so soon, they have to have  an year of longing They sang “We wish you a   Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. With the distribution of little gifts and still with songs on their lips, happily they sat on their vehicles like Santa Claus on his sledge and went home to tell the good tidings.

Christmas Celebration at Auxilium Aspirantate

 

img_8917On 18th December 2016 at 3.00 p.m, the Auxilium Aspirantate community celebrated Christmas with the Oratorians, NCP children along with their parents, SHG, IGP Women and DB Tech students.  Each group presented their programme  consists of dance, song and action song. 220 participants were present for the celebration. The aspirants enacted the Christmas scene through a short skirt and intoned Christmas carols. Sr. Leelamma,the animator concluded a program with a Christmas message.  Each one was given a snack packet along with Christmas cake prepared by the women and sisters. Everyone returned home with the joy of Christmas.

Adeiu to Mrs. Dipti Chakraborty

farewell.jpg At Auxilium Kalyani on 16th December, the sisters, staff and students gathered to bid farewell to Mrs. Dipti.  She had been a dedicated  staff for the past 32 years. The programme began with a brief prayer moment to raise our hearts and minds to the Almighty God and thank him for the gift of Mrs. Dipti to this Institution who left no stone unturned for the well being and upbringing of the children. She always taught the children to love God and to pray. Her dealings with the children was praiseworthy with her motherly assistance, guidance and exhortations.

The students offered her bouquets and small gifts as a token of their great love and gratitude towards her. Sr. Rosina on behalf of the sisters, staff and students expressed our appreciation, gratitude and thanks for her total and dedicated service to this Institution. Tear filled Mrs. Dipti too expressed her gratitude to all the sisters, the staff and students.

The 12th Southern Zonal Conference of the Salesian Cooperators

The 12th Southern Zonal Conference of the Salesian Cooperators was held at Don Bosco, Vaduthala, Ernakulam on December 10-11, 2016. The theme of the event was ”Family and Formation”. 44 Cooperators together with their delegates both SDB and FMA from all the Provinces except Kolkata and Dimapur actively participated in the conference. The celebration was graced by the presence of Fr. Joyce SDB, Provincial INK, Fr. Noel Madichetty SDB, South Asia Regional Delegate for the Salesian Family and Fr. Gilbert Choondal SDB, delegate for Cooperators INK.

The main topics of the programme were ‘Role and Formation of a Salesian Cooperator” by Fr. Noel Madichetty, “Phases of Formation” by Mr.Samikkannu Antuvan, Regional Councillor South Asia and Strenna 2017 “We are a Family” by Fr. Gilbert Choondal.

The presentation of Fr. Noel dealt with three aspects-Human, Christian and Salesian stressing on 4 levels of learning: to know, to know how to do, to know one’s individuality and to know how to live together in communion with each other and with others.

Shree Antuvan, with his presentation on the ‘Phases of Formation” highlighted the two distinct phases in the formation of the Salesian Cooperators which are initial and ongoing formation focusing on 24 steps based on the Project of Apostolic Life of the Cooperators. He stressed the importance of having regular meetings, Spiritual Retreats, Prayer life and occasional gatherings in order to strengthen the Association for greater achievements.

Fr. Gilbert presented his topic: Strenna 2017  with a short explanation on the origin of the Strenna which is a gift/an exhortation  by Don Bosco. He dealt with the 4 topics discussed in the Strenna 2017 namely,(i) family (ii) our mission to family(iii) function of a family and (iv) Salesian family.

During the Conference, deliberations were made on carrying out a common specific activity by the Cooperators of South Asia Region. In addition, there were certain action points regarding family apostolate, Delegates animation, Common Formation Programme on the Project of Apostolic Life, Animation of documents, Contribution of World Council, Minutes of the meetings, Directory, Data base were brought out in the Advisory Council Meeting which held in the afternoon hours of first day.

The grand success of the Conference was on account of the whole hearted cooperation and commitment of Provincial Councillors and local local councilors of the Cooperators of south zone and the Salesians of Vaduthala community. Their loving and selfless efforts were lauded by all the participants.
