Feast of Blessed Eusebia Palomino Yenes

 On 9th February 2016, the Aspirantate Community celebrated the feast of Blessed Eusebia Palomino Yenes, the patron saint. The day began with the animated Morning Prayer cum meditation on the life of Bl. Eusebia through power point presentation which is reminder to us to live a simple life like her and to do everything for the love of God.  In the evening there was a solemn Mass presided over by Fr. Francis SJ. The introduction of the Mass read by a boarder invited us to imitate the virtues of Bl. Eusebia and prayed for the speedy recovery of our dear Sr. Rose Simon.

In honour of Blessed Eusebia the 7th batch of the DB Tech Students had the inaugural function Mrs. Satapdi, the International co-ordinator was the chief guest for the occasion. The function began with a short prayer service follow by a stage programme.The campus community sisters brought more joy by joining for the celebration.  The day concluded with a short stage program by the aspirants.

 

 

Closing of the Year of Consecrated Life

On 7th February 2016, the parishioners of St. Mary’s Church, Mechia Basti, Jaigaon, organized the closing ceremony of the Year of Consecrated Life.

The Holy Eucharist was animated by the Auxi-Youth members (AYM). The Mass started with an introduction which brought out the message of the Holy Father Pope Francis on the consecrated life, and thanking God, for the gift of the consecrated life in the Church.It was followed by an entrance dance after which all the priest and religious entered the church with a lighted lamp.  They were honoured with khadas and sandal paste. Along with the closing ceremony of the consecrated life, there were six adult Baptisms which added to the joy of the celebration. At the end of the Eucharistic celebration Sr. Cecilia Tamba on behalf of all the priest and religious thanked all the parishioners for their active participation and for the prayers offered during the Year of Consecrated Life.

Don Bosco is honoured …

 

D. BoscoA Day with the Father and the Friend at Auxilium Barasat

On 30 January 2016 at Auxilium Convent Barasat there was a special Morning Prayer for sisters and the Don Bosco group honoured Mother Mary through a well animated Rosary.

The culmination of the celebration was at 5.45pm when whole community gathered around the Eucharistic Table of the Lord. There was joint entrance dance by boarders and the aspirants accompanying the celebrant to the Altar. Rev. Fr. Mourline Fernando SJ shared his reflection on his experiential point of view about the Salesian sisters. He referred two Biblical Hebrew words,which are very appropriate in the context of the life and mission of the Salesian sisters. First of all the Salesian sisters are the ‘Shekinah’ which means the ‘Dwelling place of God’: who continually accompanying each other in the community and also in the mission. God’s dwelling is felt by people who come in contact with them. They are the mirror image of Our Lady. The second word referred was, ‘Goel’ which means ‘to redeem’ –‘redeemer’- a person who as the nearest relative of another is charged with the duty of restoring the rights of another and avenging his wrongs. In order to practice these two terms what requires is ‘P5’ Promise of hope, patience, praise, provision and promotion. He explained each term in the context of the recipients who are really taken care off, accompanied and promoted in life and given a future.

After the solemn Eucharistic celebration the get together for cultural evening, was exciting and enjoyable one. Aspirants and boarders performed many programmes and manifested their honour and love towards father and friend Don Bosco. At the end of the programme Sr. Stella P., the animator congratulated them for their wonderful and entertaining performance and invited everyone to imitate Don Bosco in cooperating with the plan of God; who in spite of hardships and difficulties fulfilled God’s plan in his life.

Don Bosco is honoured at Auxilium, Kurtumgarh

On 31st January Don Bosco was honoured by the people of Kurtumgarh. During the Holy Mass Fr. Santosh Singh, the principal of Balliguda commented on Don Bosco’s love and service for the young and invited the faithful to pray for the Salesian Sisters of Kurtumgarh.  After the Holy Mass the people greeted the sisters on the occasion of the feast of Don Bosco.  Sr. Shanti briefed the gathering about Don Bosco’s childhood and his mission among the young.

In the afternoon feast was celebrated by the Oratorians and the coaching children. Various games were conducted and the winners were awarded with prizes. With the distribution of the sweets the celebration came to an end.

On the 31th January Don Bosco was  honoured  with a solemn Eucharistic celebration together with the parishioners .The celebrant Fr. Renny Abraham SJ in his homily highlighted the great works of Don Bosco which is carried out by the fathers, sisters and other Salesian family members. He sighted many examples from the life of Don Bosco which is relevant for the people of every group. He concluded saying, if you young people have received much favor in this institutions this is because of Don Bosco, you in return should help other poor young people.

In the evening the boarders honored him with rhythmic dances and by presenting the life sketches of Don Bosco and Laura Vicuna. The celebration came to an end with the solemn evening prayer animated by Sr. Aruna.

A Moment of Togetherness

“Nirmala Niketan” Jaigaon: On Friday, 30th January 2016, the school management organized an outing to Green Touch Eco Resort in Lata Guri for the staff of St. Anthony convent Jaigaon. The destination was three hours journey from the School. The place was mesmerizing as its name suggests. Sisters organized several interesting games and winners were awarded with lovely gifts.  Another happy moment was when we shared delicious meal. It was a day of fun and frolic. The outing refreshed and rejuvenated the spirit of everyone. The staff extended their hearty gratitude to sisters for organizing a wonderful picnic.

HANDING OVER CEREMONY

HC Auxilium Vasant Vihar: The Handing Over Ceremony was held on the 25th January 2016 H.C.Auxilium School, Vasant Vihar. During the solemn ceremony, the outgoing School Cabinet and House Leaders handed over the flags and the responsibilities to the newly elected School Cabinet and House Leaders. As the out – going leaders handed over the candle, the symbol of knowledge and responsibility, to the newly appointed leaders, the beautiful words were being sung in the background by the school choir: ‘This little guiding light of mine I’m going to let it shine…All the time.’

Sr. Celine A, gave an inspiring message to the new leaders conveying the importance of being an exemplary leader and always following the right path in life. She stated a few qualities that the leader must possess, such as, honesty, confidence, commitment, positive attitude, creativity, intuition etc. She also stated some enlightening examples from the life of successful people which can inspire the leaders to do well and carry out their duties with full dedication.

She further thanked the outgoing cabinet for their untiring work and efforts throughout the year and gave her best wishes to the new cabinet to carry out their responsibilities with sincerity and integrity.

MAZZARELLO CONVENT SCHOOL, RANCHI: The 67th Republic Day of India was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at Mazzarello School Ranchi on 26th January 2016.The students with great festivity and national pride entered the school premises.

The chief guest of the day Mrs.Suman Kujur , the joint secretary of the department of Agriculture of Jharkhand hoisted the flag. The choir group presented the patriotic song “Mera Mulk Mera Desh”.  The whole school joined the choir and the song reverberated in the surroundings. It was followed by a beautiful patriotic dance.  The chief guest Mrs.Suman Kujur urged the students to do their best and to feel proud to be Indians.  Students were awarded prizes for the various competitions conducted in the school throughout the year.

‘Vicuna Nivas’ Jumaikela: On 26th January 2016, the students and teachers of Janta Higher Secondary School Jumaikela celebrated Republic day. The programme commenced at 9.00 am.  Rev. Sr. Rose Kureekattu, the animator of the community was the chief guest of the day. March-past was led by the school captain followed by all the four houses. It was followed by a short programme consisted of patriotic song, dance, one act play, drill and yoga by different houses. Mr. Norbetus  Panna, in his address to the students spoke about  the meaning of freedom and exhorted them to acquire knowledge, to make their life more useful for others than just acquiring degree. The program ended with the distribution of the sweets. Jai Hind!

FORMATORS COURSE

Formators Course-Ranci

20 participants from 15 Congregations  participated in the Formators Course from 3-31, Jan.2016 at H.B Road Kokar Ranchi at Carmel Nivas, Little Way Carmelite Spirituality Centre organized by  Discalced Carmelite Fathers of the Ranchi Delegation (OCD). The inaugural ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by his Excellency Rt.Rev.Bishop Telesphore Bilung Auxiliary bishop of the Arch diocese of Ranchi,Superior of the house Fr.Mark OCD, Course Director Fr.Mathew Joseph and Sr. Rosalia Tirkey representing the Participants. Rt. Rev.Bishop Telesphore Biliung delivered the inaugural address. Bishop Telesphore highlighted that proper formation can only give identity to our charism and pinpointed  that the formators were taking part in a noble course, as they build the church so it was necessary  to form oneself to respond to the demands of the  digital world from where our formees come. The resource persons gave a blend to nature and grace. It was informative, reflective innovative and thought provoking.

With the enriching sessions coupled with family spirit of joy and happiness  the OCD family made our stay very remarkable. Fr.Verghese OCD the “Spiritual Guru” led the participants  to  the heights of 7 mountains to touch the Divine.  At the closing thanksgiving Eucharist Fr.Sebastian Koodapat OCD delegate Provincial alerted us that on facing quantity crisis we do not sacrifice quality crisis. The course ended with the Valedictory Function and Fr. Joseph Elamparayil OCD Provincial of Malabar Province saluted the Formators for shouldering the delicate and noble task. The formators surely will not forget the last class of Fr. Mathew Joseph OCD, the Director: THE BEST APPROACH OF THE FORMATOR. “Don’t be a Pal. Be friendly, caring, loving and sensitive. But do not be a friend. They has enough friends. They need an adult role model in the Formator to look up to with admiration and pride.

Blessed Laura Vicuna is honoured at ‘Vicuna Nivas’ Jumaikela

On 22nd January 2016, the community of Jumaikela celebrated the feast of Blessed Laura Vicuna. The celebration began with the holy Eucharist presided over by Rev. Fr. Patrick Tigga. The day’s liturgy was meaningfully animated with entrance dance, introduction etc. The choir was the students of Janta Higher Secondary School Jumaikela. During the homily Rev. Fr. Patrick highlighted the simple life style of Bl. Laura Vicuna and her love for Jesus. Felicitation followed after the Mass.

DSCN8169In the evening communities of Don Bosco and the ‘Vicuna Nivas’ joined together for an animated recreation, recital of the Holy Rosary and for a fellowship meal. The games were animated by Bro. Maria Arokiya, Sr. Mary P. and Sr. Archana Kujur for the boarding girls and boys.  Sr. Rose Kureekattu, the animator of the community and Rev. Fr. Lalit Tigga (MSFS) were the chief guests congratulated the winners and prizes were awarded to them.

Laura V. Celebration

 

The Morning Prayer that was animated gave a touch of the feast highlighting Bl.Laura Vicuna’s heroic virtues of purity, sacrifice, trust in God, hope and her faith. Mass at the parish was con-celebrated by Fr. Peechat and C.L. Francis. An introduction to the life of Blessed Laura Vicuna was read. The boarders went in procession and paid homage by offering rose petals at her feet, symbolizing the odour of her sanctity as a young teenager and an invitation to imitate and witness her life.

At school a prayer service was held in her honour. The students were eager to learn the life of Blessed Laura Vicuna.

Headmistress, Sr. Geraldine gave away prizes for the winners of the various competitions held in the year 2015 to honor her in a special way.

The boarders honored her through song, dance, skit depicting her life and the presentation of her maxims. During the goodnight boarders were exhorted to follow her example.
