On 20 December 2015 was a memorable day for our Oratorians of Banglatoli and Sahera.  On the occasion of Christmas a live crib competition was organized. Children wished the sisters a very happy Christmas and happy New Year. Sr. Rosalia T. the animator in her Christmas message reminded the children to make a good confession in order to prepare a beautiful place in their hearts for Baby Jesus. Sr. Rosalia told the little ones to be loving and helpful in order to present the best gift for Baby Jesus. They went home after receiving a little Christmas gift and experiencing the joy of Christmas.

Christmas Celebration at Auxilium Convent Barasat School –  ‘Emmanuel’ God with us

 

Christmas 1On 21st December, Auxilium Convent School Barasat celebrated Christmas. The celebration started on 18th December with ‘Class room board preparation, star and crib making competitions. The main celebration was on 21st with lots of creativity and festivity. From class II-V had Carrol dance and middle and high school had Carrol singing competitions. Nursery, KG and Cl. I amused the gathering by their little thrilling steps.

Rev. Fr. Leo Jayaraj and Sr. Monica Kamai BS were the judges of the day. Another most surprising event was the arrival of the Santa Clause who came in an open van with gifts for the whole school.  Sr. Stella in her message told the students the story of a Christmas miracle. She invited the gathering to expect miracle while practicing hope in life and wished the whole school hope and peace of Christmas. Teachers too greeted the sisters a Very Happy Christmas.

Christmas Celebration at HCA Vasant Vihar

Christmas is celebrated as the birth of baby Jesus and a reminder of how much we are loved. The magic of Christmas is not in the presents but in the presence. It’s for loving, caring, sharing and for giving. God made Christmas happen, friends made it beautiful and music made Christmas festive.

On Friday, 18th December 2015, HC Auxilium, Vasant Vihar, Delhi started with the Pre-Christmas Celebrations. Various competitions had been organised for children on this auspicious day, with Crib Making, Board Decoration and Class Room decoration. The students were excited and participated with fervor, enthusiasm and zeal in these competitions.

Honourable Judges Fr. Prasad George, Parish Priest of St. Dominic Church, Vasant Vihar, Vice-Principal, Sr. Karuna, Ms Runa, the art teacher came around the entire school to admire and judge the talents displayed by the students. They had a tough time to judge the best ones.

On Saturday, 19th December 2015, the main celebrations commenced with welcoming the Chief guest, Fr. Prasad George, a biblical scholar, renowned retreat preacher for students, parents and people of all walks of life and presently the Parish Priest of St. Dominic Church, Vasant Vihar, the Superior Sr. Ruben, the Principal Sr. Celine A, and all the Sisters with a bouquet of colourful flowers and a greeting card each.

Fr. Prasad George was then invited to place Baby Jesus in the Manger, symbolising the birth of Christ in our hearts and bless the gathering. Fr. Prasad said a prayer asking the Lord to bless each one present saying that He has a plan, a purpose, a goal for us and to reach that goal He has given us the Messiah Jesus to be with us to walk with us to suffer with us and to die for us and to accompany us to where the God is in heaven. He further prayed asking God, our father to bring the good news of the birth of Jesus to each one of us, the good news of peace, joy and harmony & to bring the same good news to millions of people who are suffering due to wars, violence, terrorism, poverty, abandonment and to those who are forced to migrate to lands unknown to them.

The programme of the day further continued with the School choir presenting a beautiful and melodious carol, setting the stage for the Carol Singing Competition for both the Middle and the Senior School students. The honourable judges for both the Carols and the Skits Competitions were Mr. Rabindra Lawrence, the Organist and Choir Director of the Apostles, Methodist Church, R K Puram and Mr. Asher Joseph, who is the recipient of ‘The Youngest Choir Director’ award at the age of 17, presently in a Band performing musical shows, and finally, Mr. Joshua Samuel, winner of Live Jam and has judged many competitions in IIT Delhi, IIFT Delhi and IIT Guwahati.

The Christmas Skit competition was about the true meaning of Christmas in today’s scenario. The definition of Christmas has changed with time, today, love and care, the essence of Christmas has disappeared. What is important, the Christmas tree, decorations, cake or togetherness? Share and experience the joy of giving with those who really value your gift and your feelings. The students of the four Houses performed the skits depicting the message in their own way. Finally a Prayer Dance was presented by the students.

The Principal Sr. Celine A was invited to announce the much awaited results and the Superior, Sr. Ruben was requested to give away the prizes to the winners of various competitions. The students of Std XII also presented a medley of carols and the Principal appreciated their enthusiasm. The Over-All Trophy was bagged by Bosco House, amidst cheers, clapping and roars and of excitement the progrmme of the day came to a close.

On 18th December oratorians and evening coaching students celebrated Christmas and wished Happy Christmas with a short programme to Superior Sr. Teresa Ruben and sisters. At the end of the programme Sr. Teresa Ruben gave the message of love peace and Joy.

Solidarity Day Mingled With Christmas Celebration

On Thursday, 17th December to inculcate the spirit of caring and sharing, students of St. Anthony’s School, Jaigaon, were encouraged to contribute for the solidarity day and they turned up with incredible response in material things as well as in monetary aid. Prior to the celebration, students of class XI were given the responsibility to survey the neighbourhood. They made extensive preparation to hold Christmas celebration for the underprivileged children.

On 17th December in the first hour, sports events were organized for around 300 of them. The students also entertained them with carols. It was followed by a tea party. Students then invited Sr. Lily, the superior, to distribute the packed gifts for each of them.

At the end of the day, the students of class XI although exhausted, they were delighted. They expressed their feelings of joy and satisfaction they experienced in reaching out to the less privileged ones of the society.

Grandparents’ Day Celebration

On Saturday 19th December, the students of St. Anthony’s Primary section celebrated the Grandparent’s day with great enthusiasm. Mr. S.D Agarwal and Mr. Raj Kumar Maheswari graced the day with their presence as chief guests. Grandparents were welcomed with a welcome song followed by dances and a drill. But the incredible performance was the short skit with a message on “social equality”. This was followed by a Christmas message by the students of class V.   On behalf of the grandparents, one of them thanked the management and the teachers for the beautiful performance staged by their grandchildren.

The Joy of Giving at Christmas

On Friday, 11th December 2015, 42 students of Class VI visited Jeevan Jyoti Ashram, Jangpura, a home for orphans taken care by Sisters of Missionaries Of Charity. They took cardigans, pairs of socks, moisturizers and a small contribution for the children of Snehalaya, which is looked after by our dear Sisters.The Jeevan Jyoti Ashram  caters to the needs of around 50 children who are physically or mentally challenged. This visit was an eye opener for both the students as well as the teachers who had accompanied them. They not only understood the importance of families but also realized that how blessed they are.

On Tuesday, 15th December 2015, almost 40 students of Standard IX visited Mother Teresa’s Devine Foundation. This is a home to about 100 mentally challenged people. The residents had tried their hands on some astonishing craft work out of waste material to decorate their home.

The students had contributed for cardigans, towels, bathing soaps and some packets of biscuits for the residents of this Home. They also presented a beautiful programme comprising of songs, mime and dance etc. Superior and their Class teachers accompanied the children for the cause.

This trip brought the students face to face with the reality of life and that happiness can be attained by extending a helping hand.

Christmas Celebration At Auxilium Dum Dum

On 18 December the Teaching Staff of Auxilium Convent School, Dum Dum celebrated Christmas. They wished superior Sr. Teresa A and the sisters a very happy Christmas. On this occasion they prepared a live crib and sang Christmas carols. At the end Superior reciprocated the greetings of the Teachers. There was a Christmas joy which could be felt by all.

On 20 December the Oratorians, evening school and parallel school children, of Auxilium Convent Dum Dum celebrated Christmas. Sr. Esther, the chief guest of the celebration was escorted to the venue by the children. As sign of welcome they garlanded her and offered a bouquet of flower. The celebration was consisted of dances, skit and songs. Prizes were distributed for the winners, for the events that had taken place throughout the year. Sr. Esther thanked them in the name of Superior and in her Christmas message she invited them to become builders of love, peace and joy. Christmas gifts were distributed to all.

Christmas celebration at Kurtumgarh, Odisha

Christmas. On 20th December 2015, the tuition children of St. Sebastian Church, Kurtamgarh celebrated the Christmas at 2.30 p.m.  With their performance they made the audience joyful and offered an enjoyable programme. Sr. Shanti Tirkey and Sr. Sabita Nayak prepared the children with great love and creativity. The Christmas message was given by Fr. Jugal Kishore Digal, the parish priest and Sr. Teresa Xalxo FMA.  Bothe of them spoke about the reason for the coming of Christ our Savior on the earth and how everybody should experience His Love, Peace and Joy.  Some of the parishioners exclaimed, “It was a memorable celebration for the first time”.
