 48th World Communication Day Celebration

Picture1

St. Mary’s Convent School, Geyzing celebrated the 48th World Communication Day on the given theme “Communication at the service of an Authentic Culture of Encounter.”

In the field of communication, we cannot forget the greatest communicator St. John Bosco, with his ability to dialogue with the rich and the poor, powerful and powerless, young and old, along with his natural tendency to enter into relationships with everyone. The world knows the greatest Saint who devoted his life for the good of the young. He was the best communicator who was able to speak and communicate with the most fragile human beings, ‘The Youth.’

So as a part of the bicentenary celebrations of Don Bosco’s birth St. Mary’s Convent School carried out proposed programme meaningfully on the theme “ Don Bosco- A Good Communicator”. Various activities were conducted in the school keeping in mind the above theme.

Students drew the beautiful portraits of Don Bosco and prepared posters on the maxims of Don Bosco. They not only prepared them but also promised to act according to the maxims of Don Bosco and walk in the footsteps of the great saint.

During the morning assembly the students of class IX presented the advertisement on Don Bosco coming to St. Mary’s School and telling the children to run, jump, and shout but not to sin.

The programme ended with a happy note and a promise in everyone’s heart that the shadow lines which are drawn but invisible can only be erased through communication and in order to be a good communicator one can follow the golden footsteps of St. John Bosco, who was able to unite natural aptitude and gifts of grace in the service of the young through His gift of communication.

The motive behind organising this programme was to help the youth to achieve good communication skills and to illustrate the charism and works of St. John Bosco, the founder of the Salesians. We hope that the world will be filled with a heart just like of St. Don Bosco.
