The day commenced with Sr. Geraldine briefing the students on the significance of the day, namely as a tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, known for his love and affection for children and who has left behind a legacy of education and development of children in the country.

Rohan Sur of the Nursery gave a very short and sweet speech on Children’s day. This was followed by the Lighting of the lamp by student representatives of the primary classes invoking God’s blessings upon all with gifts of wisdom, knowledge, understanding and love. From the touch of God to touch on the stage was a group song by the teachers and sisters: “Dekho I he yeh hai (tare Zameen Phar), heart rending “Bache man ke sache and then the stage rocked with Marathi dance Pinga –pori; Uri Uri Jai; Kala Chasma and Yahi Umar hai karle galti se mistake. No wonder they propped up with great amazement to see the sisters too dance to the rhythm of the music.

A wonderful sight then when teachers and sisters were in the midst of all singing and dancing to the beat of the music! The morning ended with a great tone of joy and contentment among the students as they were given each a snack by the end of this program.

The children were reminded of the less privileged ones who could not celebrate this day and were asked to share with some of them whenever possible in a speech by one of our faculty members. Thereafter, came the lively parody- cum – skit showcasing the pranks of the students in their class rooms. A funny action song presentation based on retro was put up , which was cheered and enjoyed by the students. This was followed by a colourful folk dance medley. Such was the aura that it sent shivers of enjoyment and growing adrenaline of the students in the auditorium.
