Christmas Celebration At Auxilium Dum Dum

On 18 December the Teaching Staff of Auxilium Convent School, Dum Dum celebrated Christmas. They wished superior Sr. Teresa A and the sisters a very happy Christmas. On this occasion they prepared a live crib and sang Christmas carols. At the end Superior reciprocated the greetings of the Teachers. There was a Christmas joy which could be felt by all.

On 20 December the Oratorians, evening school and parallel school children, of Auxilium Convent Dum Dum celebrated Christmas. Sr. Esther, the chief guest of the celebration was escorted to the venue by the children. As sign of welcome they garlanded her and offered a bouquet of flower. The celebration was consisted of dances, skit and songs. Prizes were distributed for the winners, for the events that had taken place throughout the year. Sr. Esther thanked them in the name of Superior and in her Christmas message she invited them to become builders of love, peace and joy. Christmas gifts were distributed to all.

Christmas celebration at Kurtumgarh, Odisha

Christmas. On 20th December 2015, the tuition children of St. Sebastian Church, Kurtamgarh celebrated the Christmas at 2.30 p.m.  With their performance they made the audience joyful and offered an enjoyable programme. Sr. Shanti Tirkey and Sr. Sabita Nayak prepared the children with great love and creativity. The Christmas message was given by Fr. Jugal Kishore Digal, the parish priest and Sr. Teresa Xalxo FMA.  Bothe of them spoke about the reason for the coming of Christ our Savior on the earth and how everybody should experience His Love, Peace and Joy.  Some of the parishioners exclaimed, “It was a memorable celebration for the first time”.

Inter-School Competition – ‘Christmas Fantasy’ at HCA R.K. Puram

‘Let us have music for Christmas Sound the trumpet of joy and rebirth. Let each of us try, with song in our hearts, to bring peace to men on earth’. Keeping the above verse as our focus, the fifth Inter-School Competition titled ‘Christmas Fantasy’ was organized on Friday, 11th December, 2015 at the Senior School premises at Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, for the students of Classes III to V. The theme for the competition was ‘Jesus is the Reason for the Season’ The competitions included Christmas Montage (Art & Craft) , Christmas Melange ( Singing a Medley of Christmas Carols) and Christmas Fusion ( Indo-Western group Dance). The programme began with the lighting of the lamp. The students of Class  V put up a vibrant  Indo-Western Christmas dance with a Christmas tableau to welcome the guest schools and to  bring to the fore the essence of the Christmas Season.

 Twelve reputed schools from Delhi participated in these events. It was really heartening to see the schools participate so enthusiastically. The theme of the Competition was brought out beautifully in every performance. The Children who participated in the Christmas Montage competition showed their talent by producing beautiful pieces of art using bindis, coloured bits of paper and pencil shavings. It was indeed a pleasure to watch the little children of Class III weaving their magical hands to create a Christmas Scene.  The melodious singing of the various schools filled the air with the spirit of Christmas with each school presenting “Jesus is the reason for the Season”.  The Indo-Western Dance had all present mesmerized with the performances as each school presented the theme in a fitting and creative manner.

The judges for all the competitions had a tough time deciding on the winners as all the participants had put in their hundred percent.  Refreshments were served to all the participants and accompanying teachers of the Schools present.The children sat in rapt attention as the Chief Guest gave a beautiful and inspirational message of Christmas. The air in the auditorium was filled with anxiety as the participants looked forward to the announcements of the results with bated breath. The judges were then acknowledged with mementos and the winners were awarded with trophies by our Superior, Sr Lily Joseph and our Headmistress Sr.Ashalata Kerketta.

The best Group Singing prize was bagged by St.Francis de Sales School , Janakpuri  while the best School in the Dance competition was Mount St. Mary’s Daula Kuan. The Art& Craft winners were  St.George, St.Francis De Sales and Don Bosco School as First Second and Third respectively. The overall winner for the day was St.Francis De Sales Janakpuri.

The programme ended with a wish that all would have, ‘The Gladness of Christmas which is Hope, The Spirit of Christmas which is Peace and the Heart of Christmas which is Love’.

SHARING THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS at Auxilium Dum Dum

On 19th December, the senior citizens from the vicinity of Auxilium Convent Dum Dum wished the superior and the sisters the joy of Christmas. They began with a prayer followed by a short felicitation. Superior Sr. Teresa A. also wished them the blessings of Christmas and offered Christmas gift. This brought a smile on everyone’s faces.

Crib

On 17th December 2015, Auxilium Convent School, Bandel was a hubbub of excitement as it was the day of judgement of the crib making competition. For the four houses, sites were allotted all around the school campus. Two and a half days time was allotted for crib making.

The houses were also busy preparing the live cribs. Students were given time to prepare the cribs till 17th December. The cribs were supposed to judge on 18th December. But the night of 17th December, saw a raging storm accompanied by heavy showers. It was a night of anxiety and apprehension for the students as well as teachers who spent the night pondering about the fate of their cribs.

Crib..But the morning of 18th was a day of miracles as everyone found that all their cribs were in perfect state. This doubled up their enthusiasm and they started preparing the live cribs. The Judges for the crib were invited from outside. The main- stage event began with the carols of the primary and junior classes followed by the carol singing and orchestra of the middle school and  the high school.

At the end of the event, Sr. Superior, Sr. Elizabeth announced the Green House as the winner of crib making competition and the Red & Green House as the joint winners for the live crib. The day came to an end with Sr. Superior delivering the Christmas message and wishing everyone happy holidays.

 

Christmas celebration at Auxilium Mirik

Christmas Mirik

The little ones of Auxilium Mirik celebrated Christmas together with their parents before the closing of the school for winter vacation.

They presented a good number of carols and nursery rhymes in English and Nepali. Children enacted the scene of Bethlehem. Parents enjoyed the performance and the singing of their little ones.

Sr. Cecilia Kollappally in her message to the parents spoke about the meaning of Christmas and the Year of Mercy declared by the Pope Francis.

Christmas Carol Singing Competition 

Carol singingOn 29th November 2015, Aspirants participated in the Christmas Carol Singing Competition which was held in the parish church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Barasat. It was organized by the Parish Priest and his team. Ten groups participated in the competition – RNDM candidates, Charity Sisters, Providence sisters, YCS, Youth movement, Women association, Auxilium Aspiratate etc. The aspirants presented the singing in three different languages such as English, Hindi and Uriah. Aspirantants melodious blending voices and active presentation led them to attain the 1st prize. They were happy to proclaim the coming of Jesus through our singing.  It was the great and memorable day and we raise our hearts and minds to thank the Lord for this day.

On 19th December 2014, the students of Auxilium Dum made this festive season wonderful and colourful. Various inter house competitions were held to celebrate Christmas. Classes Nursery – V singing of Christmas carols, Middle school prepared cribs and High School sang Christmas carols in groups and enacted skit related to the nativity of Jesus.  The arrival of Santa Claus created a happy and pleasant atmosphere. At the end of the programme Sr. Teresa Adampakallel announced the best house for the year 2014.The students took home the message of Christmas: to be loving, caring, sharing and respecting.

Solidarity Week – Meaning of Christmas

Christmas is opening our hearts to others giving our time and energy for others forgiving those who hurt us and asking forgiveness, and accepting others as they are in our hearts, it is doing for others what Jesus did for us. It is letting God’s spirit reign in our hearts and giving His love to others.

From 12 – 19    December 2014, Auxilium Dum Dum, students celebrated Christmas by generously sharing their gifts, love and blessings with less privileged people.

On 12th December 2014, 50 students of class XI were given the opportunity to visit the correctional Home to celebrate Christmas with the female inmates and children. The celebration began with the enchantment of Christmas Carols followed by an enactment depiction the birth of Jesus Christ. To enhance the festive mood the students gave them shawls, cakes, sweets and clothes as Christmas presents.

Kritika Jalan of class XI C shares her experience, “It was an unforgettable experience I shall remember all my life. I thank sisters for allowing us to celebrate Christmas in the true sense by letting us experience innate joy and gratitude.”

Class IX visited “Nirmala Kennedy Center” (Missionary sisters of Charity) at Green Park. The students shared the joys and sorrows of many differently abled ladies, and wished them with Christmas carols. They were gifted flour, maida, sooji, biscuits, soya beans, chocolates as eatables; shawls towels and petroleum jelly. They returned to school beaming with joy of the wonderful experience of Christmas.

Monomita Nayak and Mayurakshi Mondal of class IX, shared their experience, “To be honest on seeing the people we were filled with grief. We get so much but still we demand more. But the people living there were happy with the little things they got from us. Our tiny drops of love brought a smile to their face. It was very sad to see them in that condition, tears came to our eyes.”

On 16th December 2014 class IV and V went Karuna Bhawan to spread smile in the faces of many disabled, mentally and physically challenged people. They greeted them with many gifts such as biscuits, magi, sooji, soyabean and detergent etc. Christmas Carols gave them great rapture. Br. Yeshu Das M.C. in charge of the Karuna Bhavan delivered a short Christmas massage saying, ‘do not study only to get a job but to be a good human being who can love and care for every human person’. At the end he thanked the students for many gifts and presented them the picture of Mother Teresa.

Krittika Smadar of class V says, “I felt very sad seeing those people. They were so happy when they saw us. Some of them were fully disabled but I know God has his blessing on them and I will always pray to God that they stay happy”.

17th December Classes II and III also took the chance to celebrate the Christmas with the small children who are looked after by the Missionary sisters of Charity. They too sang the Christmas carol and gave many gifts.

Middle school showed their solidarity with the aged and sick people of Dum Dum locality and offered them rice, Detergent and food stuff. The Christmas celebration helped them to have a beautiful experience of giving and receiving.
