Hail O Mother India

                                                 ???????????????????????????????

On the 15th of August as our country celebrates its Independence day, the Auxilium Convent school too observed the day with great enthusiasm and vigour. This day has been a new dawn for every Indian citizen since 15th August 1947. And this day recalls the long years of struggles by many brave people who fought courageously to free India from the clutches of British. In order to pay homage to all those who sacrificed their lives for  better tomorrow were remembered gratefully and joined together in humble prayer for our Mother Land which continues to suffer the slavery of poverty, injustice, corruption, religious intolerance  and many other evils.

Thus paying tribute to all the freedom fighters our school celebrated Independence Day meaningfully. First of all the Chief guest Rev. Fr. Alphonso Francis along with two animators, Sr. principal and sisters were escorted by Middle school. After the flag hoisting and National Anthem all moved to the auditorium and there the chief guest was welcomed with a welcome speech and the bouquet of flowers. The tiny tots invoked God’s blessings through their prayer dance. There were various competitions such as patriotic songs, quiz, and fancy dress based on the heroes of our nation at the time of its struggle. The skits by high school depicted the various movements in the course of India’s struggle for freedom. All the competitions were repeating the Indian history and filling the hearts with awe and gratitude for all that is done to make our country free.

                                                          ???????????????????????????????

The message by the chief guest really led to breathe the rich air of our Mother Land especially of Bengal as Fr. Alphonso sang the song “kholahawa” by Rabindra Nath Tagore. He asked the gathering what was the wish for 68th Independence Day. As the answer came unanimously: freedom, peace, justice etc. He told that it is within everyone. He concluded saying, what we need is to realize all the goodness present in each one and around us and make our country a better place to live on. The “Kholahawa” of our Mother land is the real sign of true freedom.
