A scenic nature walk

On January 29, 2025, the Green Ambassadors of classes VI-IX and XI embarked on an exciting visit to Bharat Darshan Park for a nature walk along with Sr. Lemnom Mosang, Ms Shanti, and Ms Neeraj. They left school at 8:30 am brimming with excitement and anticipation and at their destination, they were warmly welcomed with scrumptious refreshments. The park, an extraordinary open-air museum, offered a glimpse into Indian history and culture. It featured stunning replicas of iconic monuments such as the Taj Mahal, Char Minar, Hawa Mahal, Meenakshi Temple, and many more. These replicas were truly remarkable because they were created entirely from recycled metal junk, including gas stoves, cylinders, electric poles, and engines.

The entire park is furnished with solar panels and other eco-friendly elements, showcasing sustainable design. The students eagerly gathered information from the staff and display boards about the materials, time, and techniques used to craft the intricate models of these monuments. The level of detail in the models left the group in awe and curiosity. Even after taking numerous photos and spending time admiring the designs, the students were reluctant to leave.

After a brief lunch under the shade of beautiful green trees and a final look at the creative artworks, the students bid farewell to the park. It was an incredible experience of both learning and enjoyment, leaving us with lasting memories of a delightful day.

MEDIA WEEK CELEBRATION

AUXILIUM DUM DUM: The students of Auxilium Dum Dum inaugurated the Media week on 16th January 2014. The theme chosen for the week long celebration was based on the message of the Holy Father for the 47th World Communication Day “Social Networks: Portals of Truth and Faith, New spaces for Evangelisation”.

The Media of the Club of the school along with their Coordinators depicted and enacted the theme in a creative manner through songs, skits, symposium and creative writing. All the programmes portrayed the importance of social networks.

We are living in an exceedingly fast paced world of high speed communication in the digital age. The speed of communication and transmission of data is ever on the increase and everyone has to adjust to this fast changing world. We are very much children of the media and the media can consciously mould our values, shape our mindsets and dictate our lifestyles. One needs therefore to make critical use of the media, make it a tool for personal growth.

In her concluding message Sr. Lucy Kachira said, Social Networks are helping to create an open public square in which people share ideas, information and opinions, and in which new relationships and forms of community can come into being. It is to strengthen bonds of unity between individuals and effectively promote harmony of the human family.

Annual Retreat – A Journey with St. Teresa of Avila

AUXILIUM BANDEL: On 28th December 2013, 62 sisters from 21 communities of the province began their spiritual journey with St. Teresa of Avila, the patroness of the Institute. The retreat began with the talk of Provincial Sr. Maria Pettayil and followed by the Holy Eucharist.

Rev. Fr. Tony Marshall OFM the retreat preacher enriched the sisters with the ‘Spirituality of St. Teresa of Avila: her early life, entry into convent, her struggles in the progress of her spiritual journey followed by her contemplation and the different stages of prayer in attaining the mysticism. The retreats were assured by St. Teresa that once the soul experiences the bliss of God he/she will not prefer the worldly pleasure. In order to have these types of mystical experience the soul needs to be completely detached from worldly attachments and constant efforts will lead to attain the real experience of the Divine contemplation. The formulae to attain this are love, faith, good resolutions and a virtuous life. The awe inspiring meditations on Abraham ‘the father of faith’, with historical, geographical and spiritual facts made the sisters to travel through the desert of Egypt to Mesopotamia and to the Promised Land. Abraham’s humility, prompt- listening, simplicity, obedience and openness to the will of God were highlighted.

The time spent before the Bl. Sacrament was a real source of energy to draw inspiration from the Eucharistic Lord. The good night  thoughts of Sr. Provincial on St. Teresa of Avila, Don Bosco, Mother Mazzarello and encyclical of Pope Francis ‘Evangelii Gaudium’ were enriching and thought provoking.

The retreatants commenced the New Year with newness of heart with the reception of the sacrament of Reconciliation. The personal and animated thanksgiving adoration from 8.30 pm to 11.00 pm followed by the Eucharistic celebration was another wonderful opportunity to venture in to the New Year with the Eucharistic Lord. After the Mass everyone exchanged New Year’s greetings to each other. The New Year day was spent in the company of Mother Mary, by praying the Rosary at the grotto and writing letter to her, the sure hope and guide in our life.

Togetherness helped us to view our abilities, enriching every one by sharing, caring and loving, experiencing God’s love immensely.

We are grateful to Sr. Magnificat Soosai fma, the Provincial of INM and our provincial Sr. Maria Pettayil fma for giving us this opportunity to renew and commit ourselves totally for the Kingdom of God, evangelizing oneself and to evangelize others around us.
