Second Novitiate

On 14th April 2016, twelve Juniors of the Province of INC entered into the 2nd phase of Second Novitiate at Sacred Heart Novitiate Ranchi. The Second Novitiate started with the Holy Eucharist presided over by Rev. Fr. Shilanand Kerketta SDB, the Rector of Kokar Community.

During entrance procession twelve Junior Sisters carried a rose flower each placed it at the feet of our Blessed Mother as a symbolic offering. In his homily he  stated that our idea won’t change us but Jesus Himself, and ultimately the Holy Spirit who is our true formator. It is He who will guide us during these days of preparation for the Final commitment.

Second Novitiate

JuniorsBANGALORE: The long awaited day for eighteen Junior Sisters (12 from Kolkata Province and 6 from Bangalore Province) came into reality at Sacred Heart Convent, Bangalore, called the Garden City, as they began the 1st phase of the Second Novitiate. The Inaugural Ceremony began with the Holy Eucharist presided over by Fr. Shabu Thuttunkal SDB. In his homily he emphasized upon the Consecrated Life and the role of Holy Spirit who is the real teacher and guide in our life. Fr. Shabu encouraged us to read and deepen the Holy Bible, through which God speaks to us.

At 09.00 AM Sr. Crescentia D’Almeida, the Provincial of FMA Bangalore, inaugurated the First phase of the Second Novitiate while the invocation to the Holy Spirit was being sung. This was followed by the lighting the lamp by Sr. Provincial, Sr. Marietta Kaidathara, the Provincial Secretary and four junior Sisters representing the INC and INK Provinces. In the introductory part Sr. Provincial highlighted the importance of our Consecrated Life by referring to our Constitutions. She brought home the message of the purpose and reason for our coming together for the second Novitiate. She concluded with a story of Tribal region of South America and conveyed the message of the preciousness of our own call and urged us to prepare for our “Final Commitment” to the Lord.

2nd Novitiate Sisters (INC)

Preparation begins to be His own for ever

On 14 November 2014, 10 young and vibrant sisters from Chennai Province and 5 from Kolkata Province arrived at Sacred Heart Novitiate, Ranchi to commence their preparation to be His own forever. At their arrival a traditional welcome was given to each of them and offered a flower each. It was followed a thanksgiving moment in the Chapel for the safe journey.

The Official welcome ceremony and the inauguration of the 1st phase of the Second Novitiate took place in the evening in the presence of the sisters of the two communities – Mazzarello Convent and Sacred Heart Novitiate. Sr. Philomena P animated the prepared prayer service on the theme “The Potter and the clay.” The sisters were reminded of the article No.98 of the Constitutions which speaks about the importance of the second novitiate. The sisters were called to reflect on the purpose and plan of the clay in the potter’s hand, and submit completely to His will, so that He will mould them to be best vessel as He pleases.
