Thanksgiving and Installation

So the LORD said to Moses, “Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him’ (Numbers 27:18).

 FMA INC Kolkata had the same biblical experience on 23rd and 24th of June.  At the close of the six-year term the province felt indebted to thank the outgoing provincial Sr. Rose Ezarath  with an evening  get together both offline and online due to the pandemic situation.   The service consisted of thanksgiving prayer service prepared by the media coordinator Sr. Celine Alexander was sent to all the communities to be live streamed at 5p.m. This was followed by expressions of thanks by   the communities compiled   by Sr. Clara Saminathan and the Google    meet   coordinated by the General Coordinator Sr. Lily Perumpettikunnel during which the vice provincial Sr. Teresa Adampakallel   appreciated Sr. Rose Ezarath for her endearing service marked by dynamism, love and caring for sisters of varied ages, and  strengthening of prayer life. As an expression of gratitude the province offered a spiritual bouquet of prayers and sacrifices in thousands, represented in basket of flowers.     The cutting of the cake and thanksgiving song witnessed by all the communities online sent vibes of gratitude from all 25 communities to dear Sr. Rose. The communities in attendance offered gifts, bouquets, cards and gifts to Sr. Rose expressing their heartfelt gratitude.  The zenith of the day’s ceremony was the sumptuous dinner prepared by the community of Dum Dum and enjoyed by all, escalated the family spirit.

24th June 2021 was a memorable day in the annals of FMA INC Kolkata when the 7th provincial Sr. Leelamma Palliparambil was given the realm of the province.  The day began with Morning Prayer prepared by Sr. Regina Adampakallel seeking blessing on Sr. Leelamma delineating the charism of  a leader after the Good Shepherd.  The Holy Eucharist presided by Fr. Joseph Pauria Sdb the provincial and four concelebrants commenced with an entrance dance by the aspirants followed by the handing over ceremony   comprised of thanksgiving to Sr. Rose Ezarath, reading of decree of appointment of Sr. Leelamma as the 7th provincial of INC Kolkata, handing over the symbolic tree representation of INC Kolkata and  seeking the blessings on Sr. Leelamma anchored by Sr. Stella.     The Celebrant in his homily   drew our attention to the two Mornesian symbols inviting each of us to be infiltrated with the spirit of the origins.    After the Mass there was a short felicitation ceremony in the provincial hall followed by Breakfast.

Thanksgiving and Prize Distribution at Auxilium Convent School, Barasat

thanks-giving-day On the bright morning of 7th February, 2017, the students of Auxilium Convent School, Barasat assembled in the auditorium for the much awaited Thanksgiving programme conducted by Cl.VIII and the prize distribution ceremony. The programme commenced at 8:30 A.M. with the lighting of the lamp and garlanding the potrait of Mother Mary to express our gratitude towards the Almighty. Then we had a reading of the various Holy Scripture to help us grow spiritually. This was followed by a number of prayers and a prayer dance to invoke Almighty’s grace . Then we had a heart warming long and inspirational video portraying how we can give something back to the world. Then we had the boys of Cl.VIII. Next was a magical Hogwarts themed powerpoint presentation showing our beloved teachers, sisters and non teaching staff members. This brought an end to the Thanksgiving programme at 9:30 A.M. The mike was handed over to Cl.XII for their last vote of thanks. The students of Cl.XII took us down their sweet memory lane, their incredible halcyon school days. They also brought a small token of love for their alma mater. Then we moved on to the prize distribution ceremony. The middle school co-ordinator, Ms.Dola Roy took over for the middle school prizes and the high school co-ordinator Ms.Saswati gave out the high school prizes. Our Principal Sr.Clara declared  Blue House was the Best House of the year amidst tremendous applause. The event came to an end at 10:15 A.M.

Celebrations at Auxilium Barasat

 

Feast of Laura Vicuna

On 23rd January 2017, Auxilium convent Barasat Celebrated the Feast of Blessed Laura Vicuna with much solemnity, the patron of all the boarders. The statue of Blessed Laura was well decorated in the chapel. The boarders animated the liturgy with fervour and enthusiasm. During his homely Rev. Fr. Joe Kallarughat S.J. beautifully brought out the intention why we honour the saints. He said mainly they are models, teachers and intercessors for us. He also exhorted the young people especially our boarders to imitate the heroic virtues of Laura and turn to her for intercession. After the Mass the aspirants and the sisters felicitated the boarders with a festal song and sweets.

On 26th January the boarders, aspirants and the sisters celebrated 68th Republic day of our country. The day began with well animated Morning Prayer and solemn Eucharistic celebration. After the Eucharistic cerebration everyone gathered infront of the school for the flag hoisting ceremony. The celebration included a speech, patriotic song and dance performed by the boarders. In his speech Rev. Fr. Leo emphasized the need to have good leaders in our country and to be aware of each ones responsibility. At the end of the programme sweets were distributed to everyone.

In the afternoon the boarders celebrated the twin feast of Don Bosco and Blessed Laura Vicuna. The programme comprised of sings songs, song enactment, skit and dances based on the lives of these saints. In her speech Rev. Sr. Stella, the superior congratulated them for their dedication in honouring their patron saint and recommended them to be diligent in putting into practice the virtues they have depicted.

In the evening the whole community together with our campus community had an hour of adoration as a token of our love and appreciation for each other. Since the aspirantate community soon will shift to the new house we bade them farewell. The day ended with an agape meal together and a short programme from the boarders. Sr. Leelamma the animator of Aspirantate thanked everyone and during the good night and highlighted the beauty of living together as a community and encouraged everyone to continue to live such simple and joyful life after the example of our founder St.John Bosco.

Thanksgiving

On 4th and 5th February the young Auxilians of Barasat expressed their gratitude to God for His blessings and protections during the year 2015- 16. For primary class IV and for high school class VIII organised the day’s celebration. During the prayer service all those who were involved in making the scholastic Year worthy of praise were appreciated. There were lighting of the lamp to invoke God’s presence amidst the gathering,  Scripture readings from different  religions’ Holy Books to recall His wonderful deeds,  melodious singing and dances to express  gratitude to God whole heartedly, prayers to invoke His blessings and also video clippings to mark the 25th Years of blessings upon the institutions. All the pioneers, principals, animators and staff members were honoured through power point presentation which presented the 25 glorious years and their legacy.High school winners

There were prize distribution ceremony for all the extra-curricular and co-curricular activities and the overall best performing house was announced. The best house trophy was grabbed by the Green House both for primary as well as high school.

Primary winnersAt the end Superior Sr. Stella showed an inspiring video and invited the gathering to acknowledge every good things done in life. Sr. Rosy also through her video presentation appreciated and congratulated everyone and left the gathering moved with gratitude. Indeed there was a song of gratitude in each one’s heart for the great efforts made by the management, staff and students in making the year a wonderful one.
