Mark: 16-15. “Go throughout the whole world and preach the Gospel to all mankind”.
The month of October was dedicated to the mission and to the Holy Rosary that reminded us of our duty as baptized Christians to proclaim our Faith to those who have not yet heard about it and to strengthen those who are weak in Faith.
In preparation for the celebration of Mission Sunday the following practices were taken at Auxilium, Kalyani every week: to share about the first Missionary expedition of Mother Mazzarello, the first missionary sisters of India, the missionary expedition from the Acts of the Apostles and the first pioneering Sisters who came to Kalyani in 1980 . We are privileged to have Sr. Rosy Mathew in our community from the first batch who planted and nurtured the charism in Kalyani.
We visited families and animated them to pray with the Word of God. Throughout the month special prayers were offered for the missionaries and prayed the chain Rosary for the intension of our Holy Father. On 27th October 2014 the community had the Mission Sunday celebration. The four groups of boarders enacted the conversion of St. Paul, the mission of St. Mary Mazzarello, the mission of St. Peter healing the lame man and the call of Samuel.
We are strengthened with the thought that each one of us is called to be a missionary in whichever place we are placed in. Mission Sunday reawakened in us once again the urge to go and proclaim the “Word of God” to everyone. These various initiatives helped us strive towards being bearers of the Good News of Christ in little ways .
