On 2nd December  2014 Diksha Katoch and Ambica Sood of H.C. Auxilium – Vasant Vihar participated in the Moot Court competition held at Delhi Public School – R. K. Puram. There were six participating schools. The students were given three cases for three rounds. They were asked to be defendants as well as plaintiffs. Diksha and Ambica defended the case on “Does reformatory action actually reduce crime committed by juveniles?” In the first round they were qualified with thirty six points of forty.  In the second round too they played the role of defendants and the case given to them was “Does punishment by the court of law to the offender brings justice to women and minor girls?” After having won the second round they were qualified for the third round, once again as defendants. In this round they defended the case “Delay in judgement or disposal of cases is provoking the victims to settle scores by themselves”. They defended their case like practising lawyers to the great contentment of the judges and secured the first position.  It was a very rewarding day for the students as this occasion exposed them to a newer experience. The competition was made genuine by the presence of practising advocates who judged the competition.

100_7228

On Sunday, 30 November, the 2nd Novitiate sisters together with the Community Sisters of Novitiate and Mazzarello Convent went for a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Dhori Mata, at Bokaro. It was a long journey of 4 hours.

The little black statue of our Lady was miraculously found in the coal mine by one of the laborer working there belonging to other faith. People seeing this black statue thought it to be the statue of the goddess  Kali started  to worship. Later on it was confirmed by one of the missionary fathers that it is the statue of  Our Lady, as no Hindu goddess  has any child being held in their hand. The people of the area wanted a shrine to be built  in her honour and the statue to be  installed. They  gave her  the title Dhori Matha               ( Black Lady)   Hundreds of people come to honour  Mary  irrespective of caste  and creed and all receive blessings. The coal miners consider her as their protector. The shrine is surround by the coal mines  and the entire area is black and covered  with black dust.

We spent our time in front of Dhori Matha praying the Holy Rosary fervently and with daughterly affection. On our way back we visited Tenughat Dam and enjoyed the cold breeze of the Dam water. We are happy to have visited Dhori Matha and to be blessed by her.

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

On 5th December the Blue house of Auxilium Dum Dum honored  their patroness, Immaculate Mary through short prayer service, skit, song, dance and self composed poem.

Self composed poem by Sritama Dutta XII C

O Immaculate virgin Mother

O Immaculate virgin Mother

The woman free from Original sin

Lavish on your devoted children

The treasure… of heavenly mercies

Thou, the cause of our Joy

The lady full of grace,

Be with us in our strife

Be with us, when we have obstacles to face

The most powerful intercessor

Thou the morning star,

The most pure the most devout,

The most faithful forever,

Thou, the Mother of God, from the throne of wisdom,

Where you reign so mercifully;

Cast thy pitying eyes on us

Cost my pitying eyes on us.

The most humble, the most poor, the most sorrowful,

Holy Mary, the spenders of the church

Thou is the Queen of Peace

Thou the mystical Rose

The flower of Carmel

Chosen by the Lord to take away our woes

Hail Mary, blessed are you among women,

Blessed are you o star of the sea,

Bless us with favors,

That we ask of thee

Show yourself to us, the most humble,

The most poor, the most sorrowful
