Mothers’ Day celebration at Auxilium Kurtumgarh

Mothers day..JPG

On 28th August 2016, the Kurtumgarh parish celebrated the feast of St. Monica as the Mothers’ day.  Around 130 women participated in the Holy Mass.  As the women entered the church their daughters put ticka for them on this special day.  Somiyo Ranjan Nanda from the youth group in his commentary compared the mothers with light. This was followed by the entrance dance and all women entered in procession and approached the altar with lighted lamps symbolizing their total self giving.  At the introduction of the Mass Mrs. Sarita Nayak gave a short life sketch of St. Monica and asked the faithful to pray for all the mothers so that they may be able to follow the virtues of their patroness St. Monica.  During the Holy Mass as well as in his sermon Rev. Fr. Jugal Kishore Digal, the parish priest spoke about the qualities of a mother and their role in the family.  He compared them with earth and the sky.  He said that the world would become Kanke (Mad place) if there would be no women in this world.  All of them listened attentively. All took part in the Mass with fervour and prayed for all the mothers.

After tMothers day....JPGhe Holy Mass the children felicitated them with songs and dances.  The Sisters together with the youth organized few games for them and prayed the holy rosary together. It was a memorable day and the first mothers’ day ever celebrated.
